Richard Goodson Practice
New house
Cornwall 1996 and 2002
This new house was located in a conservation area, with the requirement to blend with the adjacent existing brick built block of apartments. The cliff top position, along with the Cornish practise of semi-recessing isolated buildings into the ground for protection against the weather, the living accommodation was located on the upper level. By turning part of the building plan through 45 degrees, splendid views of the coastal cliffs were afforded to the living rooms.
